As I mentioned in my previous post, the past several days have been quite a handful for me, with my husband and son both getting sick while I was feeling extra exhausted and there were stuff at work that needed my immediate attention.
Anyway, despite these minor health concerns (minor because both of them were more energetic than I was while we were all feeling under the weather), the past several days has brought about a couple of developments in our lives that we are thankful for.
One of them, what I consider the biggest blessing of all, is that my husband has been promoted at work. Yey!
Our marketing manager has been talking to him, and the other afternoon, decisions were made. Although there are stuff that needs to be straightened out, most of the major concerns are already settled. The new position would require my husband to work harder, but of course, who wants to be in a stagnant position but those who do not want to achieve anything in their lives? More importantly, it would give him an opportunity for career growth, making him more marketable and giving him more career opportunities in the future.
It’s a big challenge not only for him, but also to me. He would need all the support and understanding he could get, and if I don’t understand his line of work and the industry he’s in, there’d probably be World War III in our household. It’s a good thing we’re in the same industry, let alone in the same company, so I don’t have to exert extra effort to understand his job.
Another blessing that came our way, in connection to my husband’s promotion, is that we are now able to afford to buy a car. We got a very, very convenient deal from our good friend, Senator Mon. It’s an old model, nothing fancy, but the engine works perfectly fine. There are a couple of stuff that needs fixing, but it’s nothing that would prevent us from using the car for our simple purposes like bringing the kids to their regular medical check up and doing the groceries. It’s not that bad either because it’s actually a luxury-type model, some ten years ago.
But as I’ve said, it doesn’t matter. As long as the engine’s running fine, it serves its purpose.
We’re gonna have our own Batmobile! WOOOOT! ![]()
Both blessings couldn’t have come in a better time. I am giving birth soon, and we need both the salary increase (the amount may be not much for some, but it’s a big help for us) and the car.
And that’s why I have no reason to skip mass this Sunday.![]()
