The Pakistani Spectator interview

Aug 23, 2008 Author: User ImageMommyOnTop | Filed under: Blogging, People

In one of my recent posts, I received a comment from the owners and founders of a site called The Pakistani Spectator. It is a site that takes “a candid look on everything happening in and for Pakistan.”

They requested for an interview. I must admit, I was hesitant at first because I haven’t heard of the site. However, when I saw what their site is all about, I told myself, “If there’s one site I would take time to promote and give exposure to, this is it.” Their yearning to make people aware about what’s happening in their country is admirable.

So I readily answered the interview questions.

In all honesty, I had a great time doing the interview. Some of their questions really made me think and analyze my views. The interview helped me know more about myself. Take, for example, this question:

Do you feel that you continue to grow in your writing the longer you write? Why is that important to you?
Yes, I do feel that I grow personally with my writing. Before my job as an analyst, I was a copywriter for the same company. I have written for various magazines and newspapers here in the Philippines. Writing comes naturally to me and it has become my solace. Whatever emotion I feel, I feel them better when I write about them. Whatever issue I think about, I think about them more clearly when I write about them.

And here’s my favorite:

Is there anyone from your past that once told you you couldn’t write?
Yes. He didn’t not say it in my face that, “Hey, you can’t write.” In not so many words, he told me that I am not good enough and that my writing style sucks. Ouch.

Do me a favor please? Go ahead and read the full interview here.

I truly admire their efforts in keeping the rest of the world updated in what’s happening in their country. I hope this post can help bring more awareness about how Pakistan is proudly fighting to obtain their much-deserved freedom from oppression and political conflicts.

If you want to be part of our campaign to promote consciousness about the nation of Pakistan, feel free to contact me so I could refer you to the site owners.
