My apologies to my more “fashionable” counterparts, but I really don’t understand the concept of buying rubber slippers worth almost a thousand pesos (about US$25).

Well, I admit I myself own a pair, but it was a Christmas gift and I hardly use it because I am still quite satisfied with my 40-peso slippers that I’ve had for more than a year now.

I hear people raving about these slippers. I see people wearing flaunting them all over the place, as if wearing those expensive rubber footwear should mean that the people wearing them are more superior than me.

They’re rubber slippers, for Christ’s sake! And no matter how much they cost, no matter what you call them, THEY ARE RUBBER SLIPPERS.
